2025 marks 40 years of Air Jordan legacy. Before the Jordan Brand as we know it today was established, the Air Jordan 1 made its retail debut in 1985. The Jumpman team has celebrated its 40th anniversary throughout this year, putting together many high-energy releases featuring the silhouette. In addition to this milestone, the Air Jordan 11 turned 30 years old, however, it wasn’t until the last quarter of the year that it got special treatment.
A special collection of nine Air Jordan 11 colorways was presented at the end of September, with the final pair scheduled to drop being a “Tokyo”-themed look. Now, an official preview of the sneaker has been shared, highlighting all of its unique details. A “Light Bone” color scheme hosts special Japanese-inspired embroidery at the tongue and a map of Michael Jordan’s NBA championships at the semi-translucent outsole.
At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has still not shared a precise release date for this “Tokyo” take on the Air Jordan 11. Stay tuned for updates, including stockist information, as the Jumpman team did confirm that it will be dropping during spring 2026, with it likely to only be available via Nike SNKRS and select retailers in Japan at a starting price of roughly $235 USD.
