Virgil Abloh’s impact on fashion is everlasting. Homages dedicated to the late designer continue to be made, with a new exhibit in Paris, Virgil Abloh: The Codes, celebrating his legacy this week. From this, a new collaboration with Nike is one of many notable designs to be unveiled. Another collaborative take on the Air Force 1 Low adds to the list of unreleased pairs, which includes a “Sesame” pair that was rumored to be dropping this year.
Our limited first look at this colorway sees it sport new branding. A “V.A.A. for NIKE” (Virgil Abloh Archive) note is present at the yellow medial text. This element rests underneath a metallic silver Swoosh that is associated with Abloh’s various museum-related Air Force 1 Lows. The remainder of the sneaker sports a forest green, with accessories including matching laces with white “SHOELACES” text and Abloh’s signature zip tie in white nodding to the exhibition.
At the time of writing, neither Virgil Abloh Securities nor Nike have indicated if this special collaborative take on the Air Force 1 Low will ever hit retail shelves. Regardless, stay tuned for updates regarding the partnership as we expect more to come from the duo in the near future.
