Nike has unveiled the official images of the Mind 002 Flyknit “White/Dark Grey/Pure Platinum/Wolf Grey/Barely Volt,” set to release some time this 2026. The drop marks the first time the Flyknit upper construction, originally developed during the ISPA era and introduced to the public via the fragment design collaboration, has been made available as a mainline release.

The construction tells the more interesting story here. According to Nike, this upper was one of the original colorways developed by the ISPA team during the period when the Mind technology was first being connected to a shoe silhouette. The Flyknit construction was already in development before the Mind 002 sole unit was paired with it, which means the upper has a longer and more layered origin than the standard Mind 002 build. When Hiroshi Fujiwara and fragment design later worked with Nike on the Mind 002 collab, this same Flyknit upper was what they used. Nike has now confirmed the intention to carry that construction forward into inline releases, making this drop a meaningful expansion of what the Mind 002 can be.

The colorway lands the Flyknit upper in the right register. A White, Pure Platinum, Wolf Grey, and Dark Grey base keeps the palette clean and the silhouette’s more sculptural elements readable, while Barely Volt appears through the individually articulating outsole nodes and as a sheer layer beneath the knit upper. It is a detail that rewards attention rather than announcing itself, which suits a shoe that operates in the territory between performance tool and design object. A Dark Grey foam midsole grounds the build, and grey laces with an added toggle secure system handle the fit.

The context matters too. The Nike Mind collection launched in January 2026 with the Mind 001 mule and Mind 002 sneaker, both of which sold out on every restock across every colorway released so far. The collection’s momentum has been one of the more genuine sneaker stories of 2026, driven less by conventional hype mechanics and more by the product’s actual novelty. The Flyknit construction, first debuted on SNKRS Verified in what Nike described as one of the original colorways from the design team’s ISPA days, extends that story into new material territory without losing the thread of what made the Mind 002 worth paying attention to in the first place.
