Young Thug’s SP5DER and adidas Originals have introduced the F50 Formotion, a new collaborative silhouette that pulls the construction logic of a football cleat into a street-facing runner, arriving as the centerpiece of the two brands’ first head-to-toe football-inspired collection.

The F50 Formotion’s design premise is a direct collision of two distinct adidas performance histories. The upper draws from the Adizero F50 III, one of adidas’ most recognizable football cleat silhouettes, while the tooling beneath it is Formotion, a system originally developed for running. The translation from pitch to pavement involves a silver zig zag mesh upper with leather overlays and pink accents, a lenticular badge, an SP5DER graphic on the heel, and a metal hangtag. The material combination keeps the cleat reference legible without attempting a straight replica, which is consistent with SP5DER’s broader approach to the adidas archive: disruptive enough to register as its own thing, grounded enough to make the source material identifiable.

The apparel collection built around the shoe operates on the same register. A football jersey carries a vinyl SP5DER logo on the front chest and a web graphic across the back, paired with matching shorts for a set that reads as both pitch-adjacent and distinctly unwilling to play the sportswear straight. The track top and track pants push further, with rhinestone Three Stripes and SP5DER logos across both pieces. Custom SP5DER goalkeeper gloves and a cap with rhinestone Three Stripes down the center complete the lineup, extending the collection’s punk sensibility into accessories that would be at home in a stadium tunnel or on a festival field.

The campaign centers on Barcelona and Spain winger Lamine Yamal, shot in a fictionalized locker room setting. The visual framing positions him as composed and expressive rather than deferential, which aligns with SP5DER’s stated intent to draft a new blueprint for soccer stardom. The choice of Yamal, one of the most discussed young players in world football at the moment, connects the collection to the broader cultural energy of the summer’s football calendar without leaning on nostalgic or archival references.

The F50 Formotion follows the SP5DER Supermodified Superstar, which launched earlier this year as the first footwear expression of the adidas Originals and SP5DER partnership. Where that shoe worked from a lifestyle silhouette, the F50 Formotion introduces a performance-origin upper into the collaboration’s vocabulary for the first time, expanding the range of adidas heritage SP5DER is drawing from.
