Jordan Brand has released the Air Jordan 1 Low SE “Golf Shroud,” a Light Orewood Brown/Black/Steam/White colorway that builds on the silhouette’s 1985 DNA with a material-focused SE treatment. The shoe pairs a leather and synthetic leather upper with detachable kilties, repositioning the familiar low-cut frame as a platform for modular design.

The upper splits its construction between leather and synthetic leather panels, creating a tonal interplay across the Light Orewood Brown base, Black accents, Steam mid-tones, and White overlays. It is a four-color palette that stays restrained on paper but relies on the textural contrast between the two leather types to generate visual depth across the shoe’s profile.

The headline feature is the detachable kiltie. Sitting over the lace system, the kiltie functions as both a design element and a practical shield, keeping the laces protected underneath. Remove it, and the shoe reverts to a standard Air Jordan 1 Low silhouette. Leave it on, and the upper takes on a layered, accessorized quality that gives the wearer two distinct looks from a single pair. It is a small engineering decision, but it reframes the shoe as a convertible piece rather than a fixed design.

Perforations punched into the toe box handle breathability, ventilating the interior through the leather upper. Below the upper, a foam midsole provides the shoe’s structural cushioning layer, while encapsulated Nike Air technology absorbs impact at the heel for step-to-step comfort. A rubber outsole closes out the build, delivering traction and durability underfoot.

The low-cut collar keeps the ankle free, consistent with the Air Jordan 1 Low’s profile since the silhouette’s introduction as a lower-slung counterpart to the original mid and high-top editions.
