adidas has teamed up with Staten Island-born retailer Asphalt for a limited-edition Samba inspired by one of New York City’s most recognizable bakery staples: the cannoli.
The collaboration dresses the classic low-top silhouette in a dessert-informed palette of warm wheat, rich chocolate brown and playful pink, translating the pastry’s golden shell, chocolate chips and colorful bakery-counter presentation into the sneaker’s material and color story. Contrasting accents add depth to the otherwise earthy base, while a removable cannoli charm and illustrated footbed make the culinary reference more explicit.
To emphasize personal style, the sneaker is highly customizable, featuring three interchangeable Velcro tongue options – which can also be removed entirely – alongside three distinct sets of laces for endless personalization. Limited to just 600 individually numbered pairs, the Samba will release in sizes 4 through 13, including half sizes through all Asphalt locations and the retailer’s online store.
