UNION and Nike reconnect for “Natural Selection,” a three-part Dunk Low collection that strips the familiar basketball silhouette back into something softer, looser and more adaptable. The pack comprises “Hide,” “Fatigue” and “Eclipse,” each built from unlined suede without the usual internal reinforcement for a more relaxed, unstructured shape.
“Hide” takes the most expressive route in warm Palomino brown, with a subtle leopard-like pattern etched across the suede for a tonal animal-print effect. “Fatigue” shifts into earthy Bamboo and olive hues, while “Eclipse” keeps things darker in near-black Off Noir and charcoal tones. Across all three, the suede extends unusually far down toward the midsole, while thick contrast stitching around the eyestays and tongue adds a visibly handmade quality. Small University Gold accents, UNION co-branding and custom lace hardware provide brighter points of contrast against the otherwise muted palettes.
The most significant change appears at the heel, which can be folded down to transform each Dunk from a conventional lace-up sneaker into a slip-on, giving the collection a two-way construction that plays directly into its theme of adaptation.
