Original Story: Action Bronson and New Balance teamed up for the first time just two years ago, offering some of the first takes on the 990v6 after its in-line debut. They’ve gone on to drop nine shoes in total, taking on four different New Balance models in the process. As their partnership continues to blossom, a first look at what’s to come next was shared during his Baklava Megastore pop-up in New York City last week.
Not only were all of his previous pairs available for sale again at the pop-up, but on the last day of the event he teased a New Balance 992 collab. The beloved runner begins with an orange mesh base at the upper, combining with a mesh tongue in blue that completes the color scheme of Bronson’s favorite NBA team, the New York Knicks. Brown overlays break up the brightness, appearing in nubuck and suede across the shoe. An all-black sole unit and gray heel detail add to the palette while a “BAKLAVA” callout at the lateral heel completes this limited preview.
At the time of writing, neither Action Bronson nor New Balance have announced when their forthcoming project featuring the 992 sneaker will be releasing. Stay tuned for updates, including a closer look at the pair, as we currently expect it to release later this year via SpecializingInLife and New Balance as the next project from the duo.
