The LOEWE Double L Loafer is built around softness. Its supple leather is gathered at the upper and shaped around a rounded toe, so it looks closer to a relaxed slip-on than to a stiff, structured loafer. The women’s style is available in suede calfskin and soft calfskin, and every version carries the same construction details.
The gathered construction defines the shoe. Rather than stretching a flat panel over a hard last, LOEWE gathers the leather across the upper, which gives the loafer soft folds and a flexible feel. The rounded toe continues that approach, avoiding the sharper profile of a traditional penny or horsebit loafer.
The branding is applied in an unusual way. Instead of a metal bit or a stitched emblem, LOEWE applies its Double L signature to the upper using a high-frequency process. That keeps the logo flush with the leather and puts the focus on the material and silhouette, not on hardware.
Inside and underneath, the loafer is built for comfort. A padded insole sits beneath the foot, and the shoe is fully lined in nappa leather, which is noticeably soft against the skin. The leather outsole includes a rubber island, a section of rubber set into the sole that adds grip without giving up a clean leather base. A low 10-millimeter heel keeps the profile close to the ground.
